FSCI Summer Outing: Ang Saya-saya!

Sumidenians had their day of fun, relaxation and happy time with fellow employees in their annual summer get-together held last April 30, 2005 at Laiya Coco Grove Resort in San Juan, Batangas. Dubbed “Tara na sa Laiya,” First Sumiden Circuits Inc.’s (FSCI) summer outing widened awareness of company objectives and corporate values through the return of its Amazing Race program and teambuilding activities. The Amazing Race, an activity-based learning pursuit which was launched last year, aligned individual aspirations and value system with that of the company

The fun games stressed the value of working together as a team to achieve the group’s objectives. Teams were grouped by their respective divisions and each spent the whole day doing its best to gain the most number of points in order to be declared as over-all winner of the competition. Kayak race, cheering competition, hiking trail race provided the avenue by which FSCI cascaded its business goals in a way that was engaging and fun. Even the chants of cheerers who participated in the cheering competition talked of the accomplishments of the company and its employees.

The summer outing also provided the avenue to promote employee wellness and sports activities. The championship games of its basketball and volleyball tournament highlighted employees’ sportsmanship and athletic potentials.

In addition to the fun games and sports activities, showers of prizes added zest to the event. FSCI executives and managers pooled their personal contributions on the spot and gave away P38,000 cash prizes for all employees.

The once a year summer activity was not just a day spent swimming, eating and relaxing but it was a day spent being re-acquainted with the company’s business objectives, revisiting the vision, mission and values, and establishing strong ties with fellow Sumidenians.
