FSCI’s Excellence in Six Sigma Continues in 2007
Six Sigma as a business process tool continues to be one of the drivers of First Sumiden Circuits, Inc.’s
success. In 2007, FSCI received an Honorary Mention for Best Defect Elimination in Manufacturing from its
process improvement project entitled “Coverlay Registration Defect Reduction” in the Six Sigma Excellence
Awards during 2007 Asian Six Sigma Summit held in Singapore.
FSCI also received an award as 2007 Best Six Sigma Project in the Corporate Business Excellence Group of the
Lopez Group of Companies from another process improvement project entitled “Reduction of Handling Defects for
Hard Disk Drive FPC” which enabled the company to save $70,000.
It also trained additional 4 Black Belts and 13 Green Belts in 2007. Sigma Level in Q4 2007 was at its highest
at 3.84 since FSCI started Six Sigma in 2001 with sigma level of 2.70. Total Lean Six Sigma savings from start
of implementation is now at $3.29M.
